By train

The train takes you to Lapland effortlessly. You have a choice of daytime or night time trains. In Lapland, you can travel along the western border all the way to Kolari, and all the way to Kemijärvi towards north-eastern Lapland. You can travel to other destinations in Lapland on coaches that await you at the train stations.

Finnish trains are well-equipped. Nearly all connections offer tidy sleeping cars and restaurant cars. Trains have seats with plugs for computers and you can even take your car along with you. On top of this, trains are an eco-friendly way to travel. Visit VR for further information on trains.

On the bus

By plane

Flying is the fastest way to travel to Lapland. There are flights to Lapland's five airports from Helsinki: Enontekiö , Ivalo , Kemi-Tornio , Kittilä , and Rovaniemi . Flight time from Helsinki is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours.
