HUMAK is a national network university of applied sciences in
humanities, pedagogy and cultural management. HUMAK has campuses in
11 municipalities.
Tornio Campus
| The Tornio Campus of HUMAK is located by the
River Torne near the Swedish border with a good transport
system. Tornio Campus is known in particular for specialising
in adventure and sports education and for having lively
international activities. |
The campus provides studies both in social strengthening
and international and multicultural activities. The campus
graduates have been employed easily.
Study with us to become a community pedagogue
Tornio hosts
the campus of civic activities and youth work department from where
community pedagogues (polytechnic degree) graduate. In HUMAK, you
can study in seven different degree programmes in humanities,
pedagogy and cultural management. In addition to community
pedagogues, also cultural producers and sign language interpreters
graduate from HUMAK.
Working Life Cooperation on the Campus
Students' know-how
is increased and their professional growth is supported in
practical training in numerous workplaces, students' working
life-based projects and theses. Furthermore, the development
projects implemented together with HUMAK's working life partners in
cooperation provide students with a natural environment for
learning at work.
Special Know-How for Working Life
HUMAK is developing its
cooperation with the working life partners of its fields and
sectors. Through us it is possible to recruit trainees and
commission theses and students' project works as well as employ
experts who graduate in the fields of HUMAK.
We provide our special know-how in civic and youth work, cultural
management and sign language interpretation in the form of
development projects, educational services and other specialist
services.
Adventure Education
| Specialised studies are non-degree programmes
complementing a polytechnic degree for the needs of working
life. The module of specialisation studies in adventure
education is intended for professionals who have completed
their degree in pedagogy, youth work or other instructing
field who want a new tool for their profession. |
