As their name suggests, open universities are open to everyone. You can take individual courses or longer study modules, depending on the courses available at any given time. As a rule, you cannot complete a degree or qualifications in an open university. However, if you later decide to enrol in an academic university, the university can accept the courses you have completed in the open university as part of your degree studies.
