Additional education in Lapland
Supplementary and specialisation studies are intended for persons
who have completed vocational qualifications or are employed. There
are short-term courses to refine your professional competence and
more extensive study modules for acquiring new skills. You can
extend your basic qualifications by completing a bachelor's or
master's degree in a university of applied sciences.

About apprenticeship education
The apprenticeship scheme is a way of learning a profession or
extending your competence. The apprenticeship agreement is
concluded between the employer, educational institution, student
and the apprenticeship centre arranging the education.
A key aspect in the education is on-the-job learning so about
70-80% of it is arranged at the place of work. The minimum age for
entering apprenticeship education is 15 years.
