Lapland’s location is globally interesting and its traffic flows are growing on land, water, and air. Five airports and two harbors serve international trade, whilst Lapland accounts for 7 percent of Finnish export.

Lapland’s cold conditions and Finland’s stable business area are of benefit for Lapland as a location to establish data centers, and the potential of Lapland has been recognized. The possible future realization of the planned optical fiber cable from Finland to Asia via Lapland would increase this potential even further.

Arctic vehicle testing is growing significantly. Energy efficiency requirements and the development of self-driving electric vehicles bring new solutions, which can be tested in cold conditions on an arctic testing platform. The sector offers great growth prospects and opportunities to build cooperation with our top experts.
