Wilderness Hotel Nellim is a family run hotel in Finnish Lapland. The family consists of Jouko and Mari Lappalainen and their children Essi, Eemeli, Emma and Iida. The hotel was established in 2004. During the years, all the buildings have been restored into cozy hotel rooms and suites. The theme for decorations and styling comes from the surrounding nature and the Sámi culture. The same theme is also used in the new cabins, log suites and the Aurora Bubbles – specially made for Northern Lights watching, located in the hotel premises. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful and unique Finnish nature. It’s close to the shore of the legendary Lake Inari and and Lake Sarmi as well as the Vätsäri wilderness area, which begins near from the hotel yard.
In 2012, the family bought another location – Wilderness Lodge Muotka in the Saariselkä-Kiilopää area. There are hotel rooms and suites with or without sauna, as well as new Log Cabins, Log Suites and Aurora Cabins. The decoration of Muotka Lodge draws inspiration from the surrounding local nature and Sámi culture, in the same Wilderness Hotel style. It’s known for the stunning fells which are surrounding the area and is located next to the Urho Kekkonen National Park.
