SOUND OF LAPLAND
Close your eyes and just listen.
Sound has a remarkable effect on our thinking and behaviour. And the best sounds relax our bodies and relieve stress and anxiety.
What you hear all day everyday goes right past your thoughts and buries itself deep in your mind. But what if, rather than the constant pressure of the sounds of everyday life, you heard birds singing under the Midnight Sun?
Check out how Carly Rae Jepsen got inspired by sound of Lapland.
Sound of Lapland blurs the lines between artist, instrument and medium, exploring the natural and local soundscapes of Finland’s northernmost region, the largest part of the happiest country on Earth.
Here, the wonders of nature and treasured local traditions combine to form experiences you can’t get anywhere else. In Europe’s last wilderness, the nearest forest is always just ten minutes away and wild wonders permeate the cultures and everyday lives of Lapland’s people.
Welcome to explore the sonic world of Lapland!
Lapland’s unique atmosphere inspired singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen. She recorded and filmed a unique version of fan-favorite track “The Sound” live in the middle of a remote lake in Lapland, Finland.
Our new album SCAPES offers relaxing songs of nature and ambient sounds of Lapland life. Even if you’re standing in downtown Manhattan with your 2 million closest friends, you can pop in your earbuds and let SCAPES whisk you away to the rolling fells of the North.
The Lapland Sound Collection bundles together authentic sounds taken from the wilderness and local life in Finnish Lapland, for creative use in your own projects–songs, podcasts, videos, slideshows, ringtones … you name it!
We hope you enjoy both listening to SCAPES and playing with Lapland Sound Collection. When you’re ready to take off your headphones and hear the sounds of Lapland for yourself, welcome.
Finnish Lapland is the land of myths and dreams. It is the place where summer and winter meet—the place where light and darkness dance together from the white summer months to the dark aurora nights.
Take a moment. Close your eyes and listen to the call of the wild—the sounds of Lapland.
